Chapter 5 - The Collapse of the TrioWith the trial over, the internal alliances fell apart. In the holding facility, Agnes and Claire turned on each other.

Agnes, facing a lifetime in prison, didn't hesitate to frame her son. "He was the one who bought the chemicals! He was the one who insisted on moving into the estate!" She threw everything at Mark, hoping for a lighter sentence. Claire, realizing there was no hope for a plea deal, gave the police the locations of every hidden document and offshore account Mark had tried to conceal.
There was no honor among these thieves. As they clawed at each other, trying to deflect the blame, they only succeeded in burying themselves deeper. Rebecca had anticipated this, too. She had left instructions for her legal team to offer leniency to any of the three who confessed first and provided the most evidence. Claire, being the most desperate, broke the line. She gave up the keys to the kingdom—the passcodes to the encrypted hard drives where the "poisoning" plans were stored.
Mark watched as his "loyal" team dismantled his life to save their own skins. He was left alone, with nothing but the silence of his cell and the memory of the woman he had failed to kill.
