The news traveled like wildfire. By the next morning, social media was flooded with headlines: “Billionaire Heir Assaulted: Isabella Rossi Arrested at Charity Gala!” and “The Thorne Dynasty in Crisis.”
While the public speculated, Khloe’s condition remained unstable. She was confined to the hospital bed, hooked up to monitors tracking her contractions and the baby’s heart rate. Marcus hadn’t left her side, sleeping in a chair, his tuxedo replaced by a simple sweater, looking exhausted but fiercely alert.
Arthur Vance walked into the room with a grim expression. "Marcus, Khloe. We have a problem."
"What is it, Uncle Arthur?" Khloe asked weakly.
"The Rossi family lawyers are already moving. They are trying to claim the security footage was doctored, and they’ve filed for Isabella’s bail," Arthur explained, his jaw tight. "Furthermore, they are digging up old medical records, trying to prove Khloe has a history of psychological instability to argue that she initiated the fight."
