Part 7: The Unexpected Reunion
One afternoon, after speaking at a child safety conference, a young woman approached Lily with tears in her eyes.
"You don't know me," she said softly, "but your story saved my little brother."
She explained that after hearing Lily speak, she recognized warning signs involving a babysitter and immediately reported her concerns. Authorities discovered several children had been abused, and countless lives were protected because one family had shared their experience.
Lily hugged the woman without saying a word. Sometimes, no words were necessary.
As we drove home, Lily looked out the window and smiled.

I squeezed her hand, unable to hide my tears.
