Chapter 4: The Final Confrontation

Isabella tracked the shell company to a private airport hangar on the outskirts of the city. It was where the deal was meant to be finalized, a transfer of power that would have left Isabella bankrupt and Margaret free to escape the country.

She arrived alone. The hangar was vast and cavernous. In the center, near a sleek private jet, stood Margaret, looking aged and frantic, her suitcase in hand. Beside her was a man Isabella recognized—the silent partner, the man who had been the architect of the digital fraud.

"You’re early, Isabella," Margaret hissed, her eyes wild. "And you’re stupid for coming here."

"I’m not here to negotiate, Margaret," Isabella said, holding up her phone. "I’m here to finish it. I’ve already sent a copy of every transaction, every offshore account number, and every recorded call to the district attorney. The police are already on their way."

Margaret lunged at her, a desperate, animalistic movement. But the man beside her stopped, looking at his watch. "It’s over, Margaret. The money is gone. They frozen the accounts before we could even start the engines."

The betrayal was total. Margaret fell to her knees, not with grace, but with the hollow weight of a person who had realized she had lost everything she valued—power, money, and influence.

Isabella didn't gloat. She simply stood back as the flashing blue lights of the police vehicles began to illuminate the hangar. The drama was reaching its natural conclusion.
