Chapter 10 - The Heir and the Home

Two years later.
The summer sun shone brilliantly over the rolling lawns of the Long Island estate. The stone terrace was decorated with hundreds of white lilies and fresh blue hydrangeas.
Three-year-old Leo, dressed in a tiny black tuxedo, was running across the lawn, chasing a golden retriever puppy, his loud, joyful laughter filling the air. Vance stood near the garden gates, watching the boy with a proud, protective smile.
Inside the master suite, Hannah stood in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting the lace veil resting over her dark hair. She wore an exquisite, custom-made white silk wedding dress that flowed around her like water.
I walked into the room, wearing a fitted tuxedo, and stood behind her in the mirror. I wrapped my arms around her waist, resting my chin gently on her shoulder.
“You are the most breathtaking vision I have ever seen,” I whispered, kissing the side of her neck.
Hannah smiled, turning in my arms, resting her hands against my chest. Her thumb traced the small silver pendant hanging around my neck—a small locket containing a photograph of Sophia on one side, and a photograph of Hannah’s late daughter on the other. We had made peace with our ghosts; we carried them with us, not as weights of grief, but as angels who had brought us together.
“Are you ready, Mr. Rossi?” she teased softly, her eyes glowing with deep, unconditional love.
“I was ready the moment you saved my son,” I replied.
We walked down the grand marble staircase together, out onto the sunlit terrace where our friends, family, and staff gathered. Leo ran up to us, clutching the velvet ring box with both hands, shouting, “Daddy! Mommy! Look! I got the rings!”
I picked Leo up in one arm, holding Hannah’s hand with the other.

Under the clear blue sky, overlooking the vast ocean that had once felt like a prison wall, we exchanged our vows. There were no guns, no threat of darkness, no shadows of revenge—only the quiet, unbreakable truth of a family forged in the darkest storm and healed by the greatest love.
As I pulled my wife into a deep, passionate kiss under a canopy of white roses, with our son cheering in my arms, I knew that the Rossi fortune was no longer measured in billions of dollars. My true wealth was right here in my arms—forever safe, forever whole, and finally home.
