Chapter 8 - The Fire Between Us

The kiss was explosive.
It wasn't gentle or hesitant—it was filled with weeks of buried passion, intense longing, and desperate desire. I let out a soft moan against his mouth, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him closer to me.
Vincent groaned, his hands wrapping tightly around my waist, lifting me effortlessly onto his lap. I straddled his hips, feeling the powerful heat radiating off his body, feeling the hard, masculine outline of his desire pressing against my thighs.
His lips moved hungrily down my jaw, kissing the sensitive spot beneath my ear, down to the base of my throat. Every touch of his warm mouth sent shivers of absolute pleasure shooting down my spine.
"Vincent..." I gasped, arching my back as his hands slid beneath my sweater, his warm, rough palms tracing the soft curves of my ribs and waist.
"You are so beautiful, Clara," he murmured against my skin, his fingers gently unbuckling the clasp of my bra, freeing my full breasts. He pulled back slightly, his dark eyes burning with intense adoration as he drank in the sight of my body. "Every single curve of yours was made for my hands."
He leaned down, taking my peak into his warm mouth, swirling his tongue around it until I gripped his shoulders, crying out his name in sheer ecstasy.
The world outside—the rain, the syndicate, the past—completely disappeared. There was only the crackling fire, the heavy heat of his skin, and the overwhelming rhythm of our bodies uniting on the plush leather sofa.
When he finally pulled my hips flush against his and merged us together, it wasn't just a physical act. It felt like two wounded souls finding their missing piece in the dark. We moved together in a feverish, passionate rhythm, our breath merging, our hands locked together tightly.
When the final wave of overwhelming pleasure crashed over us, I collapsed onto his chest, completely breathless, covered in a fine sheen of sweat.

Vincent wrapped his massive arms around my body, holding me tightly against his beating heart, resting his chin on top of my head.
"I am never letting you go, Clara Vance," he whispered into the quiet night. "Never."
