Chapter 10 - The Empire Eternal

Ten years later, the city of London looked vastly different. The old, decaying industrial docks along the Thames had been entirely redeveloped into glittering riverside parks, modern housing complexes, and high-tech engineering hubs funded entirely by the Vance-Draven Foundation. The underworld didn't disappear—crime could never be entirely eradicated from human nature—but it was reined in, strictly regulated, and kept far away from the innocent.

On a brilliant, warm afternoon in June, the grand stone courtyard of Cedarhaven was filled with laughter, music, and the bright chatter of dozens of guests.

It was graduation day.

Standing on the elevated wooden stage beneath a canopy of white roses was an eighteen-year-old young woman wearing a crisp cap and gown, clutching her valedictorian diploma from one of London's most prestigious academies. Her dark eyes shone with intelligence, ambition, and an absolute, unshakeable grace.

Mia Vance—now officially adopted into the Draven family—smiled out at the crowd.

Sitting in the front row, flanked by Leo and an aging, gray-muzzled war dog that still stubbornly insisted on wearing its red leather collar, sat Viktor Draven. Though time had woven silverthreads through his dark hair, his posture remained commanding, his gaze powerful. But as he looked up at the stage at his daughter, his eyes glistened with an unmistakable, overwhelming pride.

When the ceremony concluded and the caps flew into the air amidst a storm of cheers and applause, Mia stepped off the stage, bypassed the crowd of wealthy dignitaries, and ran straight into Viktor’s open arms.

Viktor caught her effortlessly, swinging her up in a tight, protective embrace just as he had promised he would all those years ago.

—You did it, sweetheart,— Viktor murmured, his voice thick with emotion. —You changed the world.—

—We changed it together, Dada,— Mia whispered back, burying her face against his shoulder.

Shadow bounded over, letting out a happy, excited bark, spinning in circles around them as if celebrating the greatest victory of his long life.

Leo walked up beside them, placing a warm hand on his father's shoulder, looking out across the sunlit estate where the past had been buried and a glorious, eternal legacy had been built from honor, truth, and love. The rain had stopped long ago. And the sun would never set on their family again.
