Chapter 6 - A New Dawn

Six months later.
The ocean breeze carried the scent of salt and blooming jasmine across the terrace of a magnificent estate in Malibu.
Isabella stood by the stone railing, holding a cup of tea, watching the golden sun set over the Pacific. The air was peaceful. No whispers. No fake smiles. No suffocating expectations.
Her laptop sat on the table nearby, showing the finalization of her divorce. Damian had tried to fight it, begging for her mercy, writing her hundreds of letters promising he had changed. She had never opened a single one.
Cross Enterprises had been completely restructured under the Vanguard Group. The toxic culture was gone, replaced by philanthropic endeavors that actually helped the community. Evelyn and Vanessa had both been sentenced to prison for their crimes, their names permanently ruined in high society.
"You look beautiful when you're not thinking about business," a warm, deep voice said behind her.
Isabella turned to see Julian Vance walking onto the terrace, carrying two glasses of wine. Julian was the brilliant, self-made architect she had partnered with to design her new charitable housing projects. Unlike Damian, Julian saw Isabella for who she truly was—not a status symbol, not an asset, but a brilliant, passionate woman.
"I was actually thinking about how quiet it is," Isabella smiled, accepting the glass of wine.
Julian walked up beside her, his hand gently brushing against hers. "You spent four years in the dark, Isabella. You deserve a lifetime of light."

She looked at him, feeling a genuine warmth she hadn't felt in a very long time. For the first time in her life, she didn't have to be quiet to survive. She was loud, she was powerful, and she was loved.
Isabella clinked her glass against Julian's, looking out at the endless horizon. The gold of the sunset didn't look like a cage anymore. It looked like a crown.
