Chapter 4: The Threat from the Past
Just as Naomi began to feel safe again, the ghost of the Park family returned. One evening, while walking home from the local grocery store, a sleek black sedan pulled up beside her. The window rolled down to reveal a hollow-faced, furious Raymond Park.
"You think you won?" Raymond hissed, his voice laced with venom. "Vivian is facing jail time, and my company is liquidated. All because of a miserable cook. If you don't drop the charges and sign an affidavit stating the video was altered, I will make sure you never work in the culinary industry again. I'll ruin your name, Naomi. I still have connections."
Naomi froze, her grocery bag slipping from her hands as fear gripped her chest. Raymond sneered, rolling up the window and speeding away into the night.
Terrified and shaking, Naomi made it back to her apartment. She locked the door, sinking to the floor as tears of helplessness spilled over her cheeks. She realized that as long as these people had a shred of power, they would never leave her alone.
But Naomi didn't know that Jae-min's security detail had been keeping a watchful eye on her apartment for her safety. Within twenty minutes of the encounter, Jae-min arrived at her doorstep, his face pale with worry.
Finding her curled up on the kitchen floor, he immediately dropped to his knees and pulled her into a tight, protective embrace. "I heard what happened. I am so sorry, Naomi. I won't let him threaten you."

"He's right, Jae-min," she sobbed into his chest. "They have power. I'm just a chef. I can't fight them forever."
Jae-min gently lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes. "You aren't fighting them alone. Raymond Park has nothing left but empty threats, and tomorrow, I am taking away his last remaining asset. Trust me."
