Chapter 2: The Fall of the House of Park
Chapter 2: The Fall of the House of Park
The flashing red and blue lights of the Beverly Hills Police Department bounced off the manicured hedges and iron gates of the Park estate. Inside, the grand dining room felt less like a billionaire's haven and more like a crime scene. Paramedics gently tended to Naomi, applying cooling gel to the severe burns on her shoulder and neck, while Jae-min Kang stood beside her like an impenetrable shield.
Vivian Park was no longer smiling. Her perfect blonde hair was slightly disheveled as a female detective took her statement. Nearby, her husband, Raymond, looked as though he had aged ten years in ten minutes. His phone was buzzing violently in his pocket—his chief financial officer calling about the sudden freeze on the two-hundred-million-dollar Kang investment—but Raymond didn't dare answer it.
"Mr. Kang, please," Raymond begged, stepping forward with his hands clasped together. "Vivian will issue a public apology. We will pay for all medical expenses. We can set up a multi-million-dollar culinary foundation in Naomi's name! Just... don't pull out of the merger. It will destroy us."
Jae-min didn't even turn his head to look at Raymond. His eyes were fixed on Naomi, whose lips were trembling from shock. "Your wife didn't just spill soup, Raymond. She assaulted a human being because she thought her wealth made her untouchable. The merger is dead. And by tomorrow morning, my legal team will ensure every media outlet in the country has the security footage."
"You can't do that!" Vivian shrieked, breaking away from the detective. "It was an accident! She tripped! Who are they going to believe? A prestigious Beverly Hills philanthropist or a hired cook from the valley?!"

Jae-min finally turned his gaze to Vivian, his eyes narrowing into cold slits. "They will believe the cameras, Vivian. And they will believe me." He looked at the lead officer. "Arrest her."
As the handcuffs clicked around Vivian's slender wrists, a collective gasp echoed from the remaining dinner guests. The untouchable queen of Beverly Hills was marched out of her own home in front of the elites she had spent her life trying to impress.
