Chapter 5 - The Eviction

By the next morning, the high-society drama had exploded onto the public stage. The video of the baby shower toast had gone viral worldwide, trending across every major platform. Millions of users praised my calculated, cold-blooded delivery of justice, while the public backlash against Ethan and Lily was swift, brutal, and relentless.

Ethan was locked away in a cold holding cell, unable to post his million-dollar bail because I had completely frozen all marital accounts and revoked his access to any asset associated with the Vance estate. But my revenge was far from complete. There was still the matter of my traitorous little sister.

At exactly 9:00 AM, I arrived at the luxury townhouse in the city's most exclusive district—the very property my father had bought for Lily as a college graduation present. I didn't bother knocking. I used my master key.

Lily was in the living room, surrounded by half-packed designer suitcases, her face bloated and eyes swollen from a sleepless night of crying. When she saw me, her sorrow instantly morphed into a ugly, defensive rage.

"Are you happy now, Claire?!" she shrieked, throwing a plush baby blanket into a cardboard box. "You ruined my life! You ruined Jackson's life! He’s an innocent baby, and now his father is in jail because of your sick, vindictive jealousy!"

"Jealousy?" I let out a sharp, cold laugh that echoed off the high ceilings. "I’m not jealous of a parasitic thief and a backstabbing coward, Lily. And as for ruining lives—you did that to yourself the very second you let my husband into your bed while pretending to be my loving sister."

I threw a heavy stack of legal documents onto the marble coffee table.

"What is this?" she whispered, trembling as she stared at the papers.

"An eviction notice," I replied calmly. "You see, Papa bought this townhouse, but he structured the deed under the umbrella of the Family Trust. Since you have actively conspired with a third party to defraud and rob that very trust, you have violated the sacred family bylaws. You have exactly twenty-four hours to vacate this property. Every piece of high-end furniture, every luxury appliance, and every piece of art bought with my family's money stays here. You leave with your clothes, your baby, and absolutely nothing else."
