Instead, she played a smarter game. She sent the video anonymously to three of Eleanor’s biggest rivals in the charity gala circuits.
The impact was subtle but devastating. At the annual Autumn Gala, Eleanor walked into the ballroom expecting her usual crown of sycophants. Instead, she was met with cold shoulders and muffled whispers.
"Did you hear?" whispered Mrs. Vandermere, holding a champagne flute. "She framed her own grandson just to spite her daughter-in-law. Chilling."
Eleanor gripped her purse so tightly her knuckles turned white. She spotted Isabella standing across the room, wearing a stunning, defiant emerald green dress that contrasted sharply with the somber black the Whitmore women were expected to wear.
