Chapter 6 - The New Horizon

Six months later. The sun was setting over the park, casting a golden glow on the stroller. Chloe looked radiant, the bruises long faded, her spirit restored. She wasn't looking over her shoulder anymore. She was just a mother, laughing as her son reached for a butterfly.

Julian was serving a life sentence, his empire reduced to a cautionary tale in business schools. He tried to claim insanity, he tried to claim framing, but the digital trail I had helped weave was inescapable.

"I never thanked you properly, Mom," Chloe said, her voice soft. "You were so quiet. So calm. I didn't know you had it in you to take down a giant."

I smiled, watching the boy. "The strongest power in the world isn't money, title, or status, Chloe. It's the refusal to let someone you love be silenced. He thought he was the hunter, but he forgot one thing."

"What’s that?"

May you like

"He forgot that a mother will burn down the world to protect her own."

We walked home as the stars began to poke through the dusk, the future finally bright, free, and entirely ours.
