Chapter 4 - The Confrontation at the Gallery

Leaving his trusted security team to guard Valeria at the hospital, Alejandro drove like a madman to the Coyoacán art gallery. He burst through the doors just as Marcela was supervising two hired men loading boxes into a truck.
"Brother! What a pleasant surprise," Marcela said, though she turned visibly pale. "Shouldn't you be dealing with your unfaithful wife?"
Alejandro walked right past her and grabbed the collar of one of the hired men—the exact man from the blurry photograph. "Where is the leather trunk?" Alejandro growled.
"Alejandro, stop this caveman act!" Marcela shrieked. "You're embarrassing us!"
"The trunk, Marcela. Or I call the federal police right now, and I let them know that the Aranda family is currently holding a woman hostage and practicing illegal corporate espionage," Alejandro bluffing, but his eyes were so lethal Marcela cracked.
She signaled the man, who opened the back of the truck to reveal the antique leather trunk.
"Why do you care so much about her garbage?" Marcela spat, her elegant demeanor completely evaporating into bitter jealousy. "She’s a nobody! Mother and I did everything to ensure you married into the right social class. That trashy girl and her family have been a parasite on our name!"

"Open it," Alejandro ordered the worker.
When the trunk was forced open, it didn't contain clothes or art tools. It contained a false bottom. Inside were original, decades-old documents stamped with the Aranda corporate seal, alongside authentic journals belonging to Valeria's late father.
