Chapter 2 - The Freezing of Assets

The wedding pavilion erupted into absolute chaos. Guests began whispering frantically, several major investors immediately pulled out their phones to call their brokers, and Sabrina’s father—a major tech mogul whose investment Ethan desperately needed—marched up to the altar, his face dark with rage.

"Ethan, what the hell is the meaning of this?" Mr. Monroe demanded. "Is your company a sham? Is your wealth built on your wife's pocketbook?"

"No, Dad, she's lying! She's crazy!" Sabrina screamed, her voice cracking. She lunged at me, her manicured nails clawing for my face. "You ruined my day! You jealous, bitter bitch!"

Before she could touch me, two large security guards stepped between us. They didn't look at Ethan or Margaret for orders; they looked at me.

"Ma'am," the lead guard said to me. "Would you like the trespassers removed?"

"Yes, please," I said calmly, adjusting the blanket over Sophie. "Please escort Mr. Caldwell, Miss Monroe, and the former Mrs. Caldwell off my property. They have ten minutes to gather their personal belongings. Anything left behind will be liquidated or thrown in the trash."

"You can't do this!" Margaret screamed, her voice reaching a hysterical pitch. "This is our family home! You can't throw us out in the cold!"

"Six weeks ago, Margaret, it was negative ten degrees outside, and my daughter was three days old," I reminded her, my voice dropping to a deadly, cold whisper that resonated through the microphone. "You stood by the door and watched him push us into a blizzard. You told me I always find a way to survive. Well, you were right. I survived. Now it's your turn to see how you do in the cold."

Ethan fell to his knees on the white satin aisle runner. The reality of his financial ruin was setting in. He looked at his hands, then up at me, his eyes pleading. "Grace... please. We can talk about this. Think of Sophie. She needs a father."

"Sophie had a father until he tried to freeze her to death," I said. "Now, she just has a mother. And a very large legal team."

As security dragged a screaming Sabrina and a sobbing Margaret out of the pavilion, the guests began to hurriedly exit, clearing the room as if it were on fire. Within twenty minutes, the grand wedding was nothing but empty chairs, spilled champagne, and a broken family legacy.
