The mansion was quiet until one shove turned a mother’s visit into a nightmare.
The mansion lobby was silent — so silent every breath felt guilty.
Evelyn Parker climbed the marble staircase with trembling hands.
She wasn’t there for money.
She only wanted to see her son, billionaire Alexander Reed.
But at the top of the stairs stood Victoria Lane — young, beautiful, dressed in champagne silk, already acting like she owned the house.
“You should stop coming here,” Victoria said coldly.
Evelyn looked at her with quiet pain.
“This is my son’s home.”
Victoria smiled.
“Exactly. His home. Not yours.”
Evelyn whispered, “You don’t love my son.”
For one second, Victoria’s mask broke.
Then Evelyn turned to leave.
Behind her, Victoria moved.
“You old woman… you should have stayed away.”
Two hands shoved Evelyn down the staircase.
Her cry echoed through the mansion.
Seconds later, Alexander ran in and saw his mother on the marble floor.
“Mom…”
Then the head guard rushed in, holding a tablet.
“Sir… you need to see this.”

The marble floor was colder than Evelyn Parker imagined.
She lay there, unable to move, staring at the crystal chandelier above her as blood slowly trickled from her temple. The pain was sharp, but the betrayal cut deeper.
“Mom…”
Alexander Reed’s voice cracked.
He dropped to his knees beside her, his expensive suit forgotten, his hands trembling as he touched her face.
“Call an ambulance!” he shouted.
Victoria Lane stood frozen at the top of the staircase. Her champagne silk dress shimmered under the lights, but her face had drained of color.
“I—she slipped,” Victoria said quickly. “She lost her balance.”
Alexander didn’t answer.
His eyes were locked on his mother.
Evelyn struggled to breathe. Her vision blurred, but she forced herself to stay conscious.
“Alex…” she whispered. “I… I didn’t fall.”
Alexander stiffened.
The head guard cleared his throat, stepping forward with the tablet in his hand.
“Sir… the security system auto-synced footage to the cloud. This is from the staircase camera.”
He pressed play.
The screen showed everything.
Victoria’s hesitation.
Her glance around the empty lobby.
Her hands.
The push.
A gasp rippled through the guards.
Alexander stood slowly.
Very slowly.
He turned toward Victoria.
“You pushed her.”
Victoria shook her head, tears instantly filling her eyes. “Alexander, please—she was provoking me. She said terrible things. I panicked.”
“You tried to kill my mother.”
“No! I just wanted her gone!”
Silence fell like a verdict.
Alexander took the tablet, his fingers white around the edges.
“You’re leaving this house tonight.”
Victoria stared at him. “Alexander… I love you.”
He laughed once — a hollow, broken sound.
“No,” he said. “You loved my name. My money. My house.”
Victoria’s voice rose in panic. “You can’t do this! I gave up everything for you!”
Alexander leaned closer, his voice cold.
“And tonight, you give it all back.”
As the guards escorted her away screaming, Alexander knelt beside Evelyn again.
“Mom, I’m here,” he whispered. “I should’ve protected you.”
Evelyn closed her eyes, tears sliding down her cheeks.
“This house…” she murmured. “It was never mine.”

Alexander shook his head.
“It is now.”
