Chapter 3: Every Lie Has a Recording

Chapter 3: Every Lie Has a Recording
Three hours later...
Khloe had been stabilized.
The baby remained under close observation.
Marcus sat alone outside the intensive maternity unit, his hands stained with dried blood.
He couldn't erase the image of Khloe protecting their unborn child while lying on the floor.
The conference room doors opened.
Jonathan entered carrying a tablet.
"So," he said quietly.
"Let's watch."
The security footage filled the large screen.
Camera One...
Khloe entered the suite alone.
She never touched Isabella.
Camera Two...
Isabella locked the door herself.
She smiled.
Then began taunting Khloe.
Audio enhancement captured every word.
"You'll lose everything tonight."
"Marcus already promised me your place."
Marcus slowly lifted his head.
"What?"
Jonathan pressed play.
Another camera angle appeared.
Isabella deliberately shoved Khloe.
Then—
She kicked her.
Hard.
Directly into the pregnant woman's side.
Marcus stopped breathing.
"No..."
The room fell silent.
Jonathan wasn't finished.
"Continue."
A final recording appeared.
This one came from the underground parking garage thirty minutes before the gala.
Marcus watched himself leaving his car.
Moments later...
Isabella embraced another man.
Not casually.
Not professionally.
They kissed passionately beside her vehicle.
The timestamp was undeniable.
Marcus stared blankly.
"Who is that?"
Security Chief Daniel answered.
"Victor Hale."
"The financial consultant your company hired six months ago."
Jonathan opened another file.
"Our investigators checked their financial records."
"For nearly a year..."
"Victor and Isabella transferred over twelve million dollars through shell companies funded by your own corporation."
Marcus looked physically ill.
"It wasn't just an affair."
Jonathan nodded.
"It was fraud."
"And they intended to blame everything on Khloe after the divorce."
Outside the conference room...
Police officers quietly entered the hospital.
This time...
May you like
They weren't there to protect Isabella.
They were there to arrest her.
