Chapter 5 - THE CHILD WHO FINALLY SPOKE

Eduardo denied everything.
He laughed.
"There isn't a single witness."
Alejandro looked toward Mateo.
The courtroom became silent.
Valeria knelt beside the little boy.
"You don't have to."
"You only speak if you want to."
Mateo squeezed her hand.
Then looked at his uncle.
His lips trembled.
For the first time in two years...
words came.
"I saw..."
The courtroom froze.
"You hurt Mommy."
Eduardo's smile disappeared.
"You told the lady where we were."
Another breath.
"You said Daddy would never know."
Jurors stared in shock.
Alejandro closed his eyes.
Every nightmare.
Every scream.
Every violent outburst.
His son had been trying to tell the truth all along.
Adults simply refused to understand the language of a broken child.
Combined with financial records, surveillance footage, encrypted messages, and Camila's eventual confession, Mateo's testimony destroyed Eduardo's defense.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment for conspiracy, murder, and attempted murder.
