Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Dawn

One year later. Early Summer.
The sun shone brightly over the lush, manicured gardens of Blackwood Manor.
The grand stone terrace was decorated with thousands of white roses, delicate silk drapes, and shimmering crystal lanterns that caught the warm summer breeze.
Over two hundred guests—including high-ranking city leaders, respected community figures, and Dante’s most trusted allies—gathered under the open-air glass marquee set up on the lawn.
Standing near the marble altar at the edge of the ridge, overlooking the sparkling valley below, was Dante Vance.
He wore a custom black tuxedo, looking remarkably handsome, his dark eyes fixed on the rose-lined aisle with an intense, unyielding devotion. Beside him stood Marco as his best man, holding two velvet ring boxes.
The soft, romantic melody of a grand harp began to echo across the gardens.
The guests stood up, turning toward the stone steps of the terrace.
Walking down the white aisle carpet, supported on the arm of her glowing, healthy mother—who walked with a cane, her face radiant with tears of joy—was Nora.
She looked like a dream brought to life. Her wedding gown was a masterpiece of flowing ivory silk and delicate lace, trailing behind her on the emerald grass like a river of light. Her brown hair was styled in an elegant updo adorned with small white pearls, her face glowing with a pure, radiant beauty that took the breath away from everyone present.
When Nora reached the altar, her mother handed her hand over to Dante.
"Take care of my sweet girl, Dante," her mother whispered, her voice thick with emotion.
"With my life," Dante promised softly, taking Nora’s hand in his.
As their hands met, a profound, peaceful silence fell over the altar. They looked into each other’s eyes—two souls who had found each other in the dark, brought together by a desperate leap of faith in a crowded club.
The officiating minister stepped forward, his warm voice carrying over the quiet gardens.
"We are gathered here today," the minister announced, "to celebrate the union of two hearts who have proven that true love is not born of convenience, but forged in the fires of courage, trust, and absolute protection."
The vows they spoke were not written on paper; they were carved into their very souls.
"Nora," Dante spoke, his deep voice trembling slightly with a rare, raw emotion as he slipped a flawless diamond band onto her finger. "A year ago, you dropped into my life like a fallen bird escaping a storm. You brought light into my dark world, warmth into my cold home, and love into a heart I thought was dead. I vow to stand as your fortress, your sanctuary, and your husband for as long as I draw breath."
Nora looked up into his dark gray eyes, her tears sparkling under the bright sun as she slid a gold band onto his finger. "Dante, you held out your hand when the rest of the world looked away. You taught me that strength isn't about control, but about protecting those you love. I vow to love you, walk beside you, and give you my heart for all the days of my life."
"By the power vested in me," the minister declared with a bright, triumphant smile, "I now pronounce you husband and wife! Dante, kiss your bride!"
Dante didn't hesitate. He wrapped his strong arms around Nora’s waist, pulling her close against his chest, and pressed his lips to hers in a deep, breathtaking kiss that sent a thunderous wave of applause and cheers erupting across the entire estate!
White dove feathers drifted down from the canopy as Dante lifted Nora into his arms, spinning her around under the warm summer sun while she laughed through tears of pure, unadulterated happiness.
Later that evening, as the stars began to twinkle over the dark valley below, Dante and Nora stood together on the private balcony of their master suite.
The music from the grand reception downstairs drifted up softly on the warm night breeze.
Dante stood behind her, his broad chest warm against her back, his strong arms wrapped securely around her waist. Nora leaned back against him, resting her head against his shoulder, looking out at the glittering lights of the city they now ruled together.
"Are you happy, little bird?" Dante whispered near her ear, his thumb gently stroking her gold wedding ring.
Nora turned her head, pressing a sweet, soft kiss against his scarred eyebrow, before looking deep into his loving gray eyes.

"I’m home, Dante," Nora smiled, her heart full, whole, and completely unbroken. "I'm finally home."
Dante pulled her tighter against his chest, holding her close as the midnight sky turned into the bright, breathtaking golden dawn of their new life together.
