Chapter 3 — A Brother's Final Message

While searching Nathan DeLuca's old office, Marco discovered a hidden flash drive taped beneath the bottom drawer of his desk.
It contained security footage.
Financial records.
Recorded phone calls.
Nathan had been building a case against Preston long before he was killed.
The final recording began playing.
Nathan appeared exhausted.
"If anything happens to me..."
He smiled sadly into the camera.
"...it was Preston Whitcomb."
"He launders money through charities."
"He blackmails judges."
"He orders murders."
"And if my brother ever watches this..."
Nathan paused.
"...don't become me."
"Don't build your life around revenge."
"Build it around ending men like him."
Enzo sat alone after the recording ended.
For the first time since Nathan's funeral...
He cried.
Not because he missed his brother.
He never stopped missing him.
He cried because Nathan had seen this ending coming.
Downstairs, Harper quietly entered the study.
She had heard enough.
"I know where the rest of his records are," she whispered.
Enzo looked up.
"My father made me memorize every safe."
She walked toward the fireplace.
Pressed one hidden stone.
A concealed compartment opened inside the wall.
Boxes of ledgers filled the space.
Every payment.
Every bribe.
Every murder.
Everything Preston Whitcomb had spent decades hiding.
Harper turned toward Enzo.
"It's over."
He slowly shook his head.
May you like
"No."
"It's finally beginning."
