Chapter 6 - A New Dawn

With Finch ousted and the corporate rebellion crushed, the storm finally cleared. The media narrative shifted completely, hailing the Grand Regent as a beacon of corporate responsibility and social change. Lupita’s new training programs were being rolled out nationwide, entirely transforming the culture of Vance Hospitality.
But for Ethan, the true victory didn't happen in the boardroom.
Late that afternoon, the sun began to set over Lake Michigan, casting a warm, golden-orange glow through the windows of Penthouse Suite 904. The crystal vase sat in the center of the living room, holding the red roses. Though a few petals had fallen, the flowers looked vibrant, drinking in the water.
Lily stood in front of the table, her small hand holding Ethan's. She looked at the roses, then up at her father.
"Daddy, the roses look happy today," Lily whispered.
"They are, sweetheart," Ethan smiled, kneeling down to her eye level. "They had a long journey, just like us. But they're home now."
There was a soft knock on the open door. Lupita stood there, holding a small plush blanket. "I'm sorry to interrupt, Mr. Vance. I just wanted to drop off Lily’s favorite blanket from the laundry. It's been sanitized and warmed."
Lily’s face lit up. "Lupita!" She ran over and hugged the woman’s legs. Over the last two days, Lupita had become a comforting, gentle presence for the little girl, filling a void of maternal warmth that Lily hadn't realized she was missing so terribly.
Lupita knelt down, hugging Lily back with genuine affection. She looked up at Ethan, her eyes soft. "She is a wonderful girl, Mr. Vance. You've raised her beautifully."
Ethan stood up, walking toward them. For the first time in three long, agonizing years, the heavy, suffocating knot of grief in his chest felt a little looser. He looked at Lupita—not as an employer looking at an employee, but as a man looking at a woman who had saved his family from total despair on their darkest night.
"Lupita," Ethan said, a genuine, radiant smile breaking across his face. "Are you free for dinner tonight? Lily and I would love it if you joined us. No corporate talk. Just... a family dinner."
Lupita looked at Ethan, seeing the warmth, the vulnerability, and the strength of the man behind the billionaire title. She smiled back, a beautiful, hopeful expression.

"I would love that, Ethan," she said softly.
Lily cheered, grabbing both of their hands. As the three of them walked out of the suite together, leaving the penthouse doors open to the warm golden light, Ethan knew that the pain of the past would never fully vanish—but for the first time, the future looked blindingly bright. The harm done by the arrogant staff had been completely overwritten by the power of a single, kind heart.
